Are the Reduced Fee Dental Plans provided considered insurance?

Reduced Fee Plans ARE NOT insurance. They are discount plans. When you select and go to a participating provider, you will receive discounted fees as listed in the Schedule of services and you will pay that amount at the time of service.


What is a participating provider?

What steps are taken to ensure that the participating dentists are quality providers?

CAREINGTON has the highest standards in pre-qualifying a provider dentist. Credentialing specialists carefully compile extensive information such as:

· A graduate of an ADA Accredited Dental School (or equivalent)
· Provider's state license status
· Verification of current Drug Enforcement Agency license (when applicable)
· Professional questions and attestation
· Board of Dental Examiners report
· Report from Health Care Financing Administration (Medicare sanctions)
· Work history/background (for 5 years)
· Verification of professional liability insurance ($100,000/$300,000)
· A controlled dangerous substance certificate (when applicable)
· Survey and malpractice claims
· Compliance with radiology requirements

Do I need to use a CAREINGTON Dentist?

Yes, you must go to a CAREINGTON provider on that is current. The CAREINGTON providers are carefully screened, credentialed, and selected in order to secure that you are given a choice of some of the finest dentists in your area.


My dentist isn't currently on the Provider Panel. What can I do?

Have your dentist call CAREINGTON network develpoment at 800-290-0523 and ask for a new provider packet from the Member Services Department. While we do not guarantee that a provider will join our plan, we have found that when a potential provider initiates the process then the chances of success is much greater. Please be aware that the credentialing and qualifying period can take time, sometimes as long as six months, depending on the speed of response from the dentist.
